The gate

Preventing unallowed persons (i.e. too small ones) from entering the kitchen. Works well until these persons discover how to open it.

Cat

You wouldn't say so at first sight, but yes this is a cat. And it is art, because it is made of wood. (Not that I woould say that everything made from wood is art of course).

Lizard

With a little wizardous help this lizard walks on the walls in our house.

Wonderful play of light and antilight on this huge fingerprint pattern.

Branches and roots

Detail from the life tree wall cloth above daughter's bed. Intriguing how mass and emptiness complement each other like branches and roots.

Pancake

On the ceiling you find turning (full-) moon shaped paper pancakes. Favorite for the children.

Hooked

Some time ago I really liked to play backgammon a lot. This was after me visiting Turkey. There it is called Taula and commonly played on the streets and in the coffee houses.
This photo is a detail of the board I took with me from Turkey.

Party

For several months already we are too lazy to remove the party paper flowers on the ceiling. But never mind, they cheer us up a lot :-)

Clean

A first detail from the new living from your correspondent. OK, it has had some stirring before, but this is the almost white paint which has been rolled on to the walls...

News

Reading news-papers takes a lot of time, especially in the weekends. And when you don't keep it straight it can give a wrongful view to the world.

Hiding

A monkey mask can help hide your face from the computer when you don't type the full (and only the full) truth.

Something

I must admit something. I just made this photograph two days ago, within minutes from the photo's I posted yesterday and the day before. But I really don't remember what this is. I just remember I made a few of this subject and chose this one as the best of the series. It can't be far away from where I'm sitting typing this now. But what is it? Nevertheless I like it, and that's what it is all about.

Candle light

Just some things missing need be inserted in this candle & card holder. This would create a more warming atmosphere to our household.

Envelope

Envelope with mail art I received today from Bridie Knight. Just opened and it contained a lot of arty stuff ;-)

Daffodil

A blown-out daffodil on the wheel.

Slow

A very slow creature, not moving by itself, jest when it is handled by tiny human beings in its surroundings. Here it is in the garden watching the sand cakes.

Bride

The mirror image of the bride, placed hand in hand with the bridegroom on top of the cake, now watching over the garden.

Broken neck

This beautiful ming dynasty old chines warrior statuette, which had a place of honour in our garden, was broken by incompetent behaviour of our youngest daughter. May be its head can be glued to its body again. I'll give it a try once.

Rrrrring

This beautiful bicycle bell has been extensively used to warn reckless pedestrians for my coming. Now it has a second life.

Predigesting

An essential but lately underused piece of kitchen equipment. The mortar grinds the seeds (a.o.) to dust, making it insertable into the food and thus edible.

Idleness

Since the peacock lost his feather, it is behind the kitchen window. Did it loose it's function once it was not attached to its original owner anymore? Or does it have a new function now? Because I impress my neighbours?

Care

In my household good care is taken for the teeth. Plenty brushes and tiny mouth-mirrors.
No sweets allowed to stay there for too long!

Coded

The yellow fruit I bought was marked with a sticker with a unique code, containing information about the kind of article and its weight and price.
We could have removed it after the sell-buy-transaction, but just left the information there, even after it rendered useless.

The gun

Just a plant spray can, but it can change into a dangerous tool once in the hands of unwanted persons.
